VILLA SHEHEREZADE DUBROVNIK
The Taj Mahal of the Mediterranean has a commanding cliff top location surrounded with 4200 square meters of colorful gardens overlooking Dubrovik Old Town and crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. The story goes that it was built in the 1920s by a wealthy banker as a gesture of great love for his beloved. True or not, the history of this palace by the sea is inextricably linked with romance – Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed here while shooting a movie in Dubrovnik.
Surrounded by lush gardens, with palm and cypress trees, the grounds have been lovingly nurtured, creating an oasis in which to relax. Dip a toe in the outdoor swimming pool, carved into the huge stone terrace, or head to the private beach and marvel at the views that stretch out as far as the eye can see. Inside a world of luxury spills out in front of you, with high ceilings and hidden alcoves, classic furnishings and sumptuous carpets. Follow the wood-paneled hallway to the study room and grand living and lounge areas, beyond which is the Grand Salon and kitchenette.
Upstairs are five spacious bedrooms, each as sumptuous as the next. Under the dome a sleek and modern room is kitted out with an array of entertaining gadgets, opening onto two roof-top terraces. Shrouded in mystery, the villa offers complete privacy just steps away from Dubrovnik Old Town.
The gardens and terraces provide an idyllic setting for weddings parties and private anniversary celebrations.
